The Great Outdoors

The temperature is still cool, but at least it finally stopped
raining. My son and his friends have been getting stir crazy
indoors. They feel the call of Spring and want to be outside
having fun. They finally got that wish. This afternoon they
enjoyed biking, skate boarding, playing catch and just running
around at the play ground.

There is a scent this time of year that people bring in with them
when they come inside. It's not a bad odor. It's a mix of sun,
wind, dirt, grass, trees, flowers and more. I call it the smell
of the great outdoors.

I was sitting in my recliner in the living room when JD came
inside. I didn't see him, and I didn't hear him. But I knew he
was there, and I knew who it was because I could smell him.

"JD...," I called. "I can SMELL you!"

He was a little freaked out. "That is disturbing to hear," he
said.

LOL - sometimes being a deaf-blind mom is kind of fun.
